Latest Updates - Bakers Creek Bridge

The Bakers Creek Bridge project will provide a two span, single lane prestressed concrete bridge replacing existing deteriorated timber bridge approximately 1.5km South of Old Hillgrove Road.

The new bridge will be constructed after demolition of the existing Timber Bridge in the same location.

The project is jointly funded by Transport for NSW Fixing Country Bridges program and Australian Government Bridge Renewal Program.

Upcoming works will include:

  • Site establishment
  • Clearing and grubbing
  • Demolition and disposal of the existing bridge structure
  • Installation of a temporary accesses and piling pads
  • Piling
  • Construction of abutments
  • Piers and headstocks

Construction will commence on Thursday, 11 January 2024 with completion forecast for late June 2024, weather permitting.

Demolition of old deteriorated timber bridge will be started on Thursday, 11 January 2024 and both Old Hillgove Road and Chinamans Gully Road will be closed at Bakers Creek Bridge. The closure will be in place for up to six months.
