Consultation to be undertaken to determine acknowledgement of traditional custodians on signs into and within the local government area

Consultation with the community will be undertaken to determine appropriate wording for the erection of signs on or within the local government area boundary that acknowledge the traditional custodians.

Council to commence swimming pool barrier safety program and inspections
Council has now adopted a Swimming Pool Barrier Inspection Program Policy after placing the draft on public exhibition for 28 days. The policy will now allow council regulatory staff to undertake the inspection of swimming pool barriers. The Swimming Pools Act 1992 (the Act) requires every council to develop a Swimming Pool Barrier Inspection Program policy detailing how they intend to proactively inspect swimming pools in their local government area.

Your personal information protected – Draft Privacy Management Plan on public exhibition
Council endorsed for public exhibition of the draft Privacy Management Plan for 28 days from Monday 29 May to Monday 26 June 2023. 

The Plan outlines the framework under which Armidale Regional Council collects, stores and uses a broad range of information for the purpose of facilitating its business. A significant part of that information is personal and health information. It is important that the community and Council officials, including Councillors, employees, contractors and volunteers, understand how we manage personal information.

Appointment of Code of Conduct Review Panel
Council approved the appointment of a Code of Conduct Review Panel for a period of four years. An n Expression of Interest took place earlier in the year to seek to appoint suitability qualified persons to the Armidale Regional Council Code of Conduct Review Panel for a period of four years. 13 expressions of interest were received and all 13 were deemed suitably qualified and meeting the criteria to assist in code of conduct matters.
