So much more than great music

Armidale is gearing up for a weekend of music, culture, and community as The Big Chill Festival makes its highly anticipated return to the Armidale Showground on May 18 and 19, 2024.

Promising to be a highlight of the regional calendar, this year's all-ages event boasts not only an exceptional lineup of quality music acts but also an array of family-friendly activities for attendees to enjoy.

A shift to the Armidale Showground has allowed for festival organisers to ramp up the 'big festival vibes' with the installation of a circus style big top tent over the main stage, which is sure to provide the ideal atmosphere in any weather.

With a reputation for showcasing top-tier musical talent, The Big Chill Festival has once again curated a stellar lineup that is sure to captivate audiences of all tastes.

From indie rock to electronic beats, the festival promises a dynamic and unforgettable musical experience.

However, music is just the beginning of the festivities. In addition to the impressive musical offerings, The Big Chill Festival will feature an expanded program of events designed to immerse attendees in the vibrant culture of Armidale.

One of the highlights is the Beardy Street Bazaar, where festival-goers can explore an eclectic mix of arts, crafts, and culinary delights from local artisans and vendors.

But the excitement doesn't end there. The Big Chill Festival extends its reach beyond the Showground with Before and After Parties scattered throughout Armidale. These events provide the perfect opportunity for festival attendees to continue the celebration well into the night, showcasing the lively atmosphere and thriving nightlife of our regional town.

For those seeking adventure, the festival offers a unique opportunity to take a refreshing plunge into Dumaresq Dam with the Big Chilli Dip - an exhilarating way to cool off while embracing the spirit of community and camaraderie.
