Thomas Bryan Fitzgerald

Mayor 1865, 1867-1868

The son of Thomas and Margaret Fitzgerald, he came to the colony in 1844 with letters of introduction to Captain O'Connell, then the owner of Guyra Station. Afterwards he accompanied Major Parke to Guy Fawkes, when the major took up that station in 1845. Following a period in agriculture, he moved to Armidale where he resided until his death on Monday 27 May 1889. He took a keen interest in matters affecting the welfare of Armidale and he was one of the first aldermen elected to council in 1864. The deceased left a widow and grown up family residing in Armidale.

Unfortunately a photograph of Thomas Bryan Fitzgerald was unable to be located.
