The Armidale Waste Management Facility is designed to maximise recycling and reuse of material. At the Transfer Station you are encouraged to sort your load into various skips. If your load is mixed/or contaminated and only fit for landfill, you will be charged a higher fee. Council reserves the right to weigh loads both going into and out of the landfill.
Customers are reminded fees and charges are applied to some services at waste management facilities. Customers are also advised the facilities operate on a strictly nil cash payment basis and only accept credit/debit cards for payment.
Plant Material Source Form & Asbestos Disposal Booking Form
The Armidale Waste Management Facility on Long Swamp Road accepts bulk garden waste that exceeds the green lid bin capacity. Separating your green waste and submitting the Plant Material Source Form enables Council to better manage weeds and invasive plants in the region and comply with NSW EPA requirements for producing and supplying mulch. This ensures a high-quality mulch that we can provide back to the community.
All customers bringing in plant material for disposal at the Armidale Waste Management Facility are required to complete a Plant Material Source Form which can be found in the link below.

- The Waste Management Facility is closed Christmas Day and Good Friday
Opening hours for Second Hand Goods Shop (Tip Shop):
- Weekends, 12noon - 4.30pm
(The interim Tip Shop opened on 9 March 2024, and is using existing resources until a long-term solution is implemented)

Mulch and compost for sale:
- Mulch @ $38 per cubic meter
- City to Soil Compost @ $99 per cubic meter for A-grade Compost (1 per customer)
- City to Soil Compost @ $78 per cubic meter for B-grade Compost (1 per customer)
- Crushed concrete @ $56 per Tonne
- City to Soil compostable bags $3 per roll
Due to testing requirements and processing logistics, compost and mulch are not always available.
Delivery is available within a 10km radius of the Waste Management Facility for orders up to five cubic meters (depending on booking availability).

Ebor Waste Transfer Station
Location: 5 to 6km from Ebor on Waterfall Way.
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 7.30am - 5pm
Access via the main gate for eligible residents only by entering a PIN/access code in the keypad.
