Armidale Amblers27 Mar 2024
Join us on Wednesday mornings! Armidale Amblers is a group of friendly people who walk together on Wednesday mornings for fitness and companionship. There is no committee and no membership fee. There are slow, medium, and faster walkers who walk varying distances. All ages are welcome. Just come along! Walks commence from the shelter in the Visitor Information Centre car park. Starting time is 8:30 am in Daylight Savings Time and 9:00 am other times. Just turn up to see who is there. A list of walks is available with approximate distances. Some of the walkers have morning tea together at a local cafe/club after the walk to continue the companionship. Again, all are welcome. For more information, turn up Wednesday morning at 8.30am during Daylight Savings and 9.00am when not DST.

Beautiful works inspired by the sea (or lack of it!) that will set you dreaming... The 13th exhibition to be held by the New England Contemporary Print Gallery over 2 years, this will be the last exhibition in this venue - so make sure you come in before we close. 40th Armidale Eisteddfod15 May 2024
9am-4pm Celebrating their 40th year, the Armidale Eisteddfod begins on the 15 May with the main competition concluding on 5 June. Entries close 22 March. The annual Gala Concert is on 16 June at 2pm at the Old Teacher's College. The Eisteddfod commences each year with a music composition presentation and Workshop co-ordinated by NECOM, a prelude to the main program and is an excellent way for senior students to showcase their HSC works before their examinations. Elijah Buol, OAM, was appointed CEO of Act for Peace in January 2024. Act for Peace is an organisation, now in its 75th year, that works to empower people displaced by conflict and disasters across the globe. Elijah brings a deep understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing displacement. After losing his parents to conflict when he was a child, he spent many years in refugee camps before coming to Australia in 2002 as a humanitarian unaccompanied minor. He holds a Masters degree in Law and a Masters of Justice in Intelligence. He is completing his Doctor of Law at the Australian National University.
