Nominations sought for Access Awards

Residents in the Armidale Region are being asked to nominate businesses, organisations, groups, or individuals for the 2024 Accessibility Awards.

The awards, run by Armidale Regional Council (ARC), recognise those who are demonstrating extraordinary commitment and delivering exceptional benefit for locals living with disability.

Entries are open to businesses, organisations, groups, and individuals for the following awards:

  • Armidale Regional Council Steve Austin Access Award for Individuals
  • Armidale Regional Council Steve Austin Access Award for Not-for-profit Organisations and Groups
  • Armidale Regional Council Steve Austin Access Award for Businesses.

Entries will open Monday 2 September and nomination forms are available on the ARC website HERE.

An Award Ceremony and lunch will be held in the courtyard of Council Chambers on Tuesday 3 December – International Day of Persons with Disability.

“Council wants to celebrate those who tirelessly work to break down barriers and create a more inclusive world for people with disabilities,” said Mayor Sam Coupland.

“Council’s Access Awards pay tribute to individuals, groups and businesses that make a difference in our community and pave the way for a more equitable society.

“If you know someone who champions accessibility in our community then make sure you nominate them for these awards!”
