Accelerated approval process for tornado damaged properties

Residents affected by last week’s natural disaster events will be able to fast-track approvals for demolition, repair and replacement of damaged homes and buildings.

Council has implemented an accelerated approval process to further ease the burden and assist residents who have lost their homes or need to undertake significant repairs to damaged properties.

Armidale Regional Council General Manager James Roncon said the storm and tornado event has had devastating impacts on many of our residents.

“Council’s Development team now has a dedicated pathway for impacted residents to expedite approval to demolish, repair or replace damaged homes and buildings.

“The accelerated process aims to provide affected residents with a streamlined pathway to getting a roof over their head and their lives back on track.”

Residents can contact Council on 02 6770 3874 between 10am and 2pm Monday to Friday to discuss their individual circumstances.
