Pools buzzing with school lessons

Students from many of the region’s schools are descending on Armidale’s Monckton Aquatic Centre and Guyra Swimming Pool for learn-to-swim and lifesaving lessons during November and December.

Until 18 December, there will be some interruptions to lap swimming at Monckton Aquatic Centre and general admission to Guyra Swimming Pool.

“The large number of students participating in Royal Life Saving training and learn-to-swim lessons at the Monckton Aquatic Centre will mean periods when there is reduced lane space for lap swimming by other members of the community,” General Manager – Businesses Scot MacDonald said.

“There will also be some times when there is no lane access for lap swimming, although we have scheduled lessons to minimise these periods.

“Similarly, there are times Guyra Swimming Pool will be closed to the public while school lessons are underway.”

Detailed times for lap swimming are available on the aquatic centre page of Council’s website.

Printed copies of the Monckton Aquatic Centre calendar are available at the Monckton Aquatic Centre.
