The NSW government has published guidelines for greywater use in households. The Guidelines relate to single, detached households only and do not include premises comprising more than one dwelling.

Providing the guidelines are followed Council approval is not required.

It is preferable to use laundry detergents low in phosphorous and sodium to avoid detrimental affects on soil and plants. Ensure you rest your soil from greywater from time to time, either by alternating where greywater is used, or having a break from greywater use when we receive rain.
