Management Accountant

Due to an internal promotion, Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team.  Working with a high energy team under experienced and professional leaders, this position will oversee the preparation of budgets, budget reviews, monthly budget variance analysis and reporting and maintenance of the general ledger and systems.

This is a role where you are encouraged to participate in designing and developing the systems and processes that will support Armidale Regional Council on our Restore and Thrive journey. At ARC we are building an accounting team to partner with our business units. Businesses which include everything from Airport Operations and Visitor Information Services through to a $400M road reconstruction project.

 

We want you to understand and guide the business units, not just crunch the numbers.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Management Accounting or similar related field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of budget preparation, review, reporting and providing budget advice to internal customers
  • Previous experience coordinating accounts payable and payroll functions including preparation of required reconciliations in accordance with statutory timeframes.
