Home Library Service
Bringing the library to you
Are you unable to come to the library or carry books home due to age, illness or disability? If so, the Home Library Service can help you.
The free service provides fortnightly or monthly home deliveries, depending on your needs.
Please note: the Home Library Service is suspended to protect the health of library staff and community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Home Library Service staff interview applicants to assess eligibility and determine which service suits the needs of each client.
Full-time carers of housebound members are also eligible for the service.
You can request and borrow:
- Fiction & non-fiction items
- Large-print books
- Talking books on CD & mp3 CD
- Specific titles and authors
- Daisy Players
- CDs of popular and classical music
- DVDs such as movies, musicals, documentaries & TV series
- Items in languages other than English
In addition, Home Library Service staff will search for specific information on behalf of customers, such as:
- other community services
- personal interest topics
- hobbies and crafts
- legal information
- medical information
- local history
If you require reference or information services, please phone the library on (02) 6770 3636.
A library staff member will discuss your interests and arrange your delivery day.
Armidale Regional Library ensures the confidentiality of Home Library Service members is maintained at all times.
