Kids & youth activities

Experience virtual reality, build amazing LEGO creations or join us for school holiday activities - kids and young people can enjoy a wide range of activities, services and activities at Armidale Regional Library, as well as our online services.

All regular activities at Armidale Regional Library's two locations are on hold while the buildings are closed to the public to protect the health of staff and community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the library continues to offer a range of online services suitable for children and young people, including sites especially for kids. Visit our Digital & Online Services page.

We will announce when kid's activities resume at the library's two locations.

School holiday activities

No bookings required unless indicated. 

Armidale
Thursday 14 January – Mixed paper crafts
11am or 2pm (1 hour sessions). All ages welcome.

Monday 18 January - Messy crafts 
11am or 2pm (1 hour sessions). All ages welcome. Be sure to bring old clothes!

Thursday 21 January – Virtual Reality
11am. 8+ years. Bookings essential. Parent/Guardian consent required on the day or at time of booking.

Lego & board game free play
4-8 January and 18-26 January. Any time during opening hours.

Guyra
Thursday 21 January - Augmented reality dinosaurs and dinosaur jigsaws
15 minute sessions between 10.30am-4pm: Booking essential

Monday 11 January - Egg carton and bottle top craft
10.30am or 2.30pm (1 hour sessions). All ages welcome.

Wednesday 13 January – Virtual Reality
11am. 8+ years. Bookings essential. Parent/Guardian consent required on the day or at time of booking.

Friday 15 January - Mixed paper craft
10.30am or 2.30pm (1 hour sessions). All ages welcome.

Tuesday 19 January - Lego balloon cars
Make & race a lego car. 11am (1 hour sessions). All ages welcome (must be able to blow up balloon).

4-25 January - Community jigsaw
Add a piece or two to our jigsaw and see what develops. Any time during opening hours. 

Lego & board game free play
4-8 January and 18-26 January. Any time during opening hours.

Storytime
For children 0-5 years. Designed to develop a love of reading and sound recognition.
A great way for children to play and meet new people.
Armidale library: Tuesdays 10.30am to 11.30am (during school terms) in Kids & Youth area.
Guyra library: Tuesdays at 11am.
