President 1926 - 1927, 1941 - 1942,  1944 - 1948

Mr R. H. Williams died at his home in Waverton on the 3rd November 1954 at 82 years of age. Mr Williams, who was a member of the Shire Council continuously from 1922 to 1934 and from 1938 to his retirement in 1948, was the first president of the New England Tablelands (Noxious Plants) County Council, holding office in the first two years of its operation, 1947 and 1948.

He moved from his property at Boorolong about sex years prior to his death, living in Wollongong for a period before recently taking up residence at Waverton.

He was also a prominent member of Armidale and District P.A. and H. Association for many years.

He was survived by his second wife, three sons, Gordon of Boorolong, Reginald of Sydney, and Herbert (Frank) of Yass, and a daughter, Myra (Mrs. Nettleton) of Sydney.

His Funeral was held in Sydney.
