Central Park

In 1874, the land known as Reserve Number 8 was dedicated by Armidale Council as park space. In 1882, Brother Francis Gatti was commissioned to purchase trees and by 1887, the area was proclaimed as a park. A Boer War Memorial Band rotunda was opened in 1902 and in 1922 the park was re-designed to accommodate the World War I Memorial.

The park has always been a site for public gatherings and performances and offers comforting shade during the summer months.

To book an event in the park please contact Customer Service on 1300 136 833 or fill out the use of Council's facilities form.
