Kempsey Road Closure

Kempsey Road Closure

Kempsey Road is closed due to a major landslip, approximately 1,000 cubic metres, at “The Nook” near Pee Dee Mountain, approximately 65 kilometres from Waterfall Way (Wollomombi).

There are several other smaller slips and trees across or hindering vehicular access east of this location along the road as a result of saturated embankments and batters along the length of the road.

Motorists are advised to avoid using Kempsey Road for the next 2 days in order that works crews from Kempsey Council and Armidale Regional Council can remove the various obstructions and make the road safer for traffic movement.

There is likely to be traffic control at the sites once the traffic conditions are restored, motorists are requested be patient.

An update will be provided on Tuesday.
