After the amalgamation of Guyra Shire and Armidale Dumaresq Councils on the 12 May 2016 there was a review of all committees. The restructure took into consideration the need to rationalise the number of committees and broaden the scope of others to give them a more holistic and strategic focus.
The Administrator endorsed the new committee structure at the Ordinary Council meeting held on 15 June 2016.
Armidale Regional Council Advisory Committees:
Access Advisory Committee will retain the current committee members with the addition of Guyra representation.
Audit & Risk Committee will retain the current structure. This committee is an independent advisory committee to Council, established to assist in the effective conduct of Council’s responsibilities for good governance, the management of risk, financial reporting and maintenance of reliable systems and internal controls in order to facilitate the achievement of its organisational objectives.
Expressions of Interest are being sought to join the Audit & Risk Committee. Applicants are required to demonstrate senior business, engineering, legal, accounting or risk management knowledge and experience and be conversant with financial and other reporting requirements. A remuneration fee set by Council will be paid to the external member.

Civic Precinct Committee has been amended to the Civic Advisory Committee and incorporates the Library Committee and CBD development focus.
Community Safety Advisory Committee will retain the current structure and incorporate Guyra representation.
Economic Tourism & Development Committee has been amended to the Regional Marketing & Growth Advisory Committee and incorporate the Guyra Tourism Committee with Council seeking EOI with representation from key stakeholders.
Environmental Sustainability Committee has been amended to Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee and Council is seeking EOI with representation from key stakeholders.
Gayinyaga Aboriginal Consultative Committee will retain the current structure and incorporate representation from Guyra and Tingha.
The Public Art Advisory Panel has been broadened to the Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee.
Sports Council Committee will retain the current structure and incorporate the Guyra Sports Council Committee.
Traffic Committee has been amended to the Traffic Advisory Committee and will incorporate Guyra representation.

Booronlong LAC will be retained.
Dangarsleigh LAC has been dissolved due to inactivity.
Dumaresq Progress Association/LAG Inc has been retained.
East Armidale LAC has been dissolved due to inactivity.
Ebor Progress Association and LAC has been retained.
Herbert Park Road LAC has been dissolved due to inactivity.
Hillgrove Progress Association and LAC has been retained.
Lyndhurst LAC has been dissolved due to inactivity.
Puddledock LAC has been dissolved due to inactivity.
Wollomombi LAC has been retained.
